Millicent "Mickey" Williamson Looks to the Future
In May 2007, Mickey Williamson attended the PCC Retiree Luncheon, bringing with her wonderful news that she shared quietly with the PCC Foundation staff. Mickey had decided to include PCC Foundation in her estate plans and had named the Foundation in her will. This future gift and bequest will establish an endowed scholarship fund which will forever provide scholarships to single mothers attending PCC.
Mickey's giving was inspired by her long affiliation, eighteen years total, with PCC as a math instructor and then, as Director of the Institutional Research Department, the last position she held before retiring. Founding college president, Dr. Amo DeBernardis helped to hire Mickey after she had worked for several years in her family's steel fabrication business. Coming from a business background, she said, appealed to Dr. DeBernardis and the Math Department chair.
Because Mickey, along with many individuals, has included PCC Foundation in her estate plans, she is a recognized member of the Amo DeBernardis Legacy Society. Legacy Society members are honored at the College and invited to an annual Legacy Society event. Together, their commitment will leave a legacy for generations of students to come. Thank you, Mickey and all Legacy Society members!
